  1. Lower Township - Why do the local media outlets refuse to report LCMR football scores? Even if LCMR doesn't call them in, isn't it the news agencies' job to report them? As a taxpayer, I just helped pay to ship these athletes to De. and it's a clandestine operation. Are they afraid to tell us the lads simply can't compete? Do they find the score embarrassing?

    Editor's Note:
School just started and we will begin to publish scores more frequently.

  2. Lower Township - Governor Christie, please explain to the people where the transfer, mansion and two percent non-resident taxes go when a person sells their home in the State of New Jersey? If the public only knew how much money is collected from settlements on homes, they would be shocked. So, instead of taking the pensions from the public and law enforcement, pay your debt off with this "no explanation" nonsense that is collected and paid to this broke state.

  3. Avalon - A mentally imbalanced survivalist recently ambushed two Pa. state troopers, shot and killed one, and wounded the other, who faces multiple surgeries. This is one sort of person who should not have a gun in the first place, but thanks to the NRA's philosophy of "any gun, any way, any time, any place," the shooter had an AK-47 and a .308 rifle. Did an NRA representative attend the trooper's funeral to express the organization's condolences? Undoubtedly not, since the NRA's anti-Christian love affair with guns is largely responsible for tragedies such as this and Aurora, Sandy Hook, and Va. Tech.

  5. North Wildwood - Bike riders really need to be told the rules of the road! I am tired of government telling us automobile drivers to share the road and watch out for bikes. Most bike riders do not use the bike paths on local streets, and when they do, they are three to four abreast! Also, what about the ones who shoot out in front of traffic and cause us to hit our breaks?

  6. Wildwood Crest - We here in the Crest saw an unusual amount of public drinking during the recent convention. Open containers, plastic cups of beer and apparently nothing was said or done. Is this the price elderly taxpayers must pay to live in a supposedly booze-free resort?

  7. North Cape May - As a mom with a son deployed overseas, I am concerned he may be sent to Africa as part of our nation's anti-Ebola mission there. Shouldn't health professionals, nurses and doctors be going, who are trained to deal with extremely infectious diseases, rather than our boys who may be exposed unknowingly to something as highly contagious as Ebola? Where is the public outcry?

  8. Wildwood - Spouters overwhelmingly supported the New York judge who threw out a case by a child advocacy group, asking that corporal punishment of children be banned. Now, the issue is again before us with the football player who allegedly beat his son severely. 22 other countries have already banned such child abuse, and they are ready to ban it here in America through the United Nations. Let officials know we will not stand for this barbaric discipline, and teachers who suspect it must contact child services.

  9. Court House - Regarding the editor's reply as to why NJ's pension system is broken: In the early 90's, all the major unions "loaned" the Whitman administration our pension money to pay state debt. Unfortunately, our union leaders did not ask for collateral to back these loans. This money was never paid back. Each succeeding administration, for 12 years, declared "pension holidays" so no agencies paid into the system. The only ones paying their share were employees. Gov. Christie should honor his promises to fund our pensions so we can survive during retirement.

  10. Cape May - The Big Ten Conference now has 14 teams, and they've had 11 teams since Penn State joined about 15 years ago. The Big 12 Conference only has 10 teams. Is it me, or should college football conference names bear some relationship to the number of member schools? Maybe they should change their naming schemes to something other than numbers.
