  2. Cape May - We should all be concerned about the robberies this past year in Cape May. Possibly more police presence on the mall during the off season would help somewhat. It is frightening to think what could happen to owners or employees of businesses.

  3. Stone Harbor - Re: Council's End of the Year Report: Keep the Fire and Police Chief's reports; don't diminish the little bit of transparency that it provides. Roger and Paul need the exposure to the public, and the public needs to see and hear them directly. Ms. Rich, you are responsible for the failure of the Library/Museum, and you are doing your best to kill any chance of Back Bay dredging. Good job, Beach & Rec; t is what we are all about. Utilities & Public Works, Stop spending our money on needless projects. Finance, cut the services and the budget and give us a break on taxes. Can 2015 be any worse?

  6. Seaville - How sickening to see former New York Mayor Giuliani using the tragic deaths of 2 cops for his political advantage, speaking to police, being all over cable shows, making donations, obviously trying desperately to upstage the current city mayor. Exactly what is he trying to prove? These former officeholders, including Dick Cheney and John McCain, should just vanish into oblivion.

  7. Middle. Township - When you see these police cars speeding all over our highways with no lights or sirens turned on, it's because they can - there is no oversight on how these abuses. Officers write tickets for violations they themselves commit. There have always been two sets of rules - for general public and for law enforcement. This is a main reason people have lost respect for law enforcement, and it is so sad.

  8. Cape May - A Rio Grande Spouter incorrectly stated that most military members support President Obama,''according to news interviews," and that a large percentage of our military are minority. Brian Hughes of the Washington Examiner reports that over 80% of our active-duty service members disapprove of President Obama. According to Defense Manpower Research, there were 1,196,897 active-duty service members at the end of 2013, of which, 74.6% were White, and 25.4% were Minorities.

  9. Middle Township - Regarding the editor's statement about the police being allowed to use cell phones. Sure, some police business can be more effectively done via cell phones. However, it seems like every police officer I see driving is talking on a cell phone - hard to believe that's all police business. I believe these officers should pull over just like anyone else. No point endangering lives just because a statute allows it. Two sets of rules? Draw your own conclusions. Both hands on the wheel, Officers.

  10. Middle Township - Regarding the Middle spouter concerned with able-bodied people parking in handicapped spaces at Elementary #2 - There is also always a large white SUV in the high school gym parking area. The driver is young and very healthy. The police need to have cars towed or impounded, and the drivers fined heavily, for breaking the law.
