  1. Cold Spring - When did it become OK to cross the center line in your vehicle when your lane is blocked by a mail truck or a trash truck, forcing oncoming traffic to the shoulder of their side of the road? Answer: Never. It is dangerous and you should not cross the center lane until there is no traffic coming and it is safe. Some traffic tickets might solve this problem.

  2. Lower Township - The spouter complaining about the Ferry, and the need for a bridge-tunnel: Be careful what you wish for. Spoke to many of the natives on both sides of the Chesapeake many years ago who remembered the ferry boats, and they said that the connector ruined their areas with traffic and congestion. Can you imagine 24/7 traffic on the Parkway and other local roads such as Routes 9 and 47? The Cape May County peninsula is a treasure away from the maddening sounds of traffic. Let's not spoil a great situation!

  3. North Wildwood - A big thank you from this local triathlete to all those who volunteered to make the Wildwood Triathlon a safe and successful race. A special thank you to all the lifeguards in the water keeping the swimmers safe, and it was especially nice to see Captain Chaverelli in the water with a torpedo, and working with the regular lifeguards from three beach patrols.

  4. West Cape May - Thanks so much to the person who found my debit card in the ShopRite parking lot Aug. 26, and brought it to the bank. Awesome show of humanity. Karma says you're good!

  5. Avalon - Families and friends need to help the alcoholic by stopping their enabling (drinking with them thinking they can control how much they drink). Do an intervention. Get them the help they need. It's the most loving thing family and real friends can do!

  6. Cape May - As a resident and taxpayer of beautiful Cape May, I am appalled at the deplorable conditions that exist and have existed at the only convenient public beach bathroom at Decatur and Beach Ave. where there are only four ladies stalls. Why are people allowed to use this facility as their personal dressing room? Can't the city use a portion of beach revenue to man the bathroom (even for the afternoon hours) with an attendant to prevent people from "bathing" in the sinks, tying up every stall and leaving their mess behind them? Others wait in lines endlessly. What about children and pregnant women?

  9. Cape May - Why can't Cape May Police post weekly police arrests like Wildwood and other local communities? When I see names of arrests I go to Facebook and it's surprising how many of these are familiar faces with sometimes mutual friends. I'd like to see local arrests posted so we can avoid some of these people if need be.

  10. Wildwood Crest - What is this nonsense about ads hiding in the spouts? There are enough ads next to them without sneaking more disguised as legitimate spouts! The spouts are for the people, not the corporations!

    Editor's Note:
The ads are neither “hiding” nor “sneaking;" they are clearly identified. We are doing our best to keep the Herald free for our readers. Thanks for noticing and thanks for reading!
