  1. Stone Harbor / North Wildwood - Does a Stone Harbor spouter really believe that the police or bridge attendant care if people are fishing on the toll bridge? People have been peacefully fishing on these bridges since they have been built, without any untoward incidents or accidents. There are more important things to worry about.

  2. North Wildwood - To the few crying about the vehicles in North Wildwood: They are military surplus. The cities get them free of charge. Also, would you like the police and fire departments to respond to emergency calls when it is flooding? You live on an island surrounded by water. For years, the police officers and firefighters had to walk and carry people out of the houses to a pick-up truck, which always broke down. If you care so much about our community, volunteer your time during a storm to help out.

  3. Wildwood - The City of Wildwood buys a new SUV and EZ passes for four departments at $550 a department. Good for them! My property taxes went up about $550 this year. Sad for me!

  4. Stone Harbor - There is grumbling about the Borough of Stone Harbor's decision to be open on Veterans Day. Those who are angered against the borough's decision, should stop and think twice. It is because of our veterans that the borough can operate and be open. Truth is, employees being given the day off would, no doubt, not spend it honoring or doing anything for veterans. It doesn't matter if the borough building is open or closed. Every work day is a day to honor and thank veterans, regardless of where you are. I encourage borough employees to attend the noon service and do just that. Thank a veteran.

  5. North Wildwood - I went into the military after high school to learn a trade, since I really didn't know what I wanted to do, other than leave the area and travel and, most importantly, since I didn't have much money, the military allowed me to save money and qualify for the GI Bill, which paid for my college education when I was done with my four years of service. I learned a great deal of trades and skills. I traveled the world and I ended up going to college 100 percent paid for by the GI Bill. It was the best decision I could have ever made.

  6. Dennisville - The results of a new polling, as reported in a daily paper, continue to show the declining popularity of Chris Christie by N.J. voters, with a further drop of additional points, citing his inability to deal with the pension problems and the falling state credit rating. Oddly, Christie told reporters that he would rather drown himself in the Potomac River in D.C., than serve as a Senator in his state.

  7. Wildwood - A Villas spouter wants people to call Senator Van Drew to encourage him to pass a bill to let illegal aliens get driver's licenses, so they can "drive to their jobs," while millions of Americans have no jobs to drive to. Hopefully, Senator Van Drew will push to enforce our immigration laws, instead of rewarding those who break them.

  8. Stone Harbor - I was issued two window tint tickets in under a week. Yes, it's legal to ticket, but it's unfair to skip a warning and not give a reasonable time frame for the problem to be dealt with before ticketing again. Days later, during a shift change, I watched officers enter their personal vehicles that had illegal tint. We the people should not be bullied by officers who are here to protect us and who are paid by our tax dollars. It's bothersome that these "lawmen" break the laws with zero consequence. Police officers are not above the law.

  9. North Wildwood - What exactly is the current status of The Children's Fresh Air Home? It's been vacant for how many years?

  10. Dennisville - I empathize with the parent who spouted about the number of local youth joining the military for lack of a better option. I was anxious during the years that my children were of military age, but now that they're grown, that doesn't make me less concerned for other people's children. Whenever I see a war veteran in a wheelchair, my heart goes out to them.
