  1. Cape May - Do these 'parking for residents only' spaces in Cape May pertain to year round residents or can someone who has another house elsewhere get one also? If so, they have a guaranteed parking spot even when they are not here, but someone who just arrived has none. Just doesn't seem right or fair. Time to take another look at this during a city council meeting. I'd like to here what others think.

  2. Goshen / Lancaster - We had our kids at the Goshen complex skate park July 15 around 5 p.m., when a truck ran into the pole in the parking lot. I would like to commend the two young men who came running from the rec. and the baseball field to help the driver and his son. I believe they were both twp. employees. They both ran over and jumped right in to help. Just wanted to say great job guys.

  3. Town Bank - The roads in Lower Twp. are horrendous. When will the obvious be addressed? No more excuses on this issue; I had two alignments in the last year.

  4. Avalon - I too have been coming to Seven Mile Island for more than 60 years and to question why we can't have more trees for beauty and shade does not imply that we are trying to make it like the main line, where I am also a resident. Have you ever wondered why the recurring adjectives used to describe Cape May are inviting, quaint, beautiful and picturesque? Perhaps it is due to the beautiful trees as opposed to the filthy scrub pines that line our medial strips! I am still looking for these "wide, open, spacious lots" you mention while slamming a tree as being hulking, overgrown timber.

  5. Court House - La Raza builds their party base of illegals as we watch and do nothing! How? No borders, no enforcement, no verification, no legal need apply, acts of welfare, health care and now food stamps for all illegals. What happened to our laws? Why are they not being followed? Why aren't all Americans demanding they be followed? We, the people need to step up and demand this of our Reps, D or R, who work for us! America's sovereignty is at stake.

  6. Cold Spring - Just read a piece in the Herald about how good it will be for a new police station in the Villas. There was no writer taking credit nor was there a tag as to who took the picture. Was it a paid advertisement or a public relations piece authorized by the majority of township council? Don't you think the public has a right to know the origin?

    Editor's Note:
This piece was sent in as a press release by Lower Township and was marked as such online. If an article does not have a writer's name attached to it, it is either a press release or sponsored content.

  7. Wildwood - While dining at a restaurant, I witnessed an employee clearing a table and eating the "leftovers" off of the dirty plates. I then saw the employee actually pick something out of the dirty bus pan, and eat it, before walking it into the kitchen. It is common sense that there are millions of germs in bus pans and on dirty plates. I think it is disgusting and crazy that anyone would do this!

  8. Villas - Thanks to the Villas Public Works Department and our township manager, the piles of leaves have finally been picked up, at least on our streets. Keep in mind that there are no further pick-ups scheduled for this year! Please do not insist on piling your leaves and debris in front of your property. It is an eyesore and a fire hazard for all of us!

  9. Cape May - I have been enjoying the beautiful beaches in Cape May for over 35 years, and have been sharing my wonderful experiences and memories with my young children by taking them to the beaches with me. The last time I checked, the Cape May beaches were public and open to everyone. However, I was made to feel very unwelcome July 22 by two women who complained to me about my son and how his talking bothered them. To those women, I say, if you want a quiet place to read, do not sit near other people or better yet, go to the library.

  10. Lower Township - I too feel the media overreacted to the NY police incident where they had to take down a large man resisting arrest. Such men have the strength of ten men; I know because I had to order numerous men in Korea to take down an out-of-line soldier. Even as the doctor had administered a shot to calm him, he was still laughing at the doctor. The doctor told me he was afraid to give him another shot for fear it might kill him. Eventually the shot took hold. Let's not be too quick to judge the police without knowing the facts.
