Middle Township police cars, as many as four, sit in the construction zone, burning gas that is paid for by Middle Township taxpayers. Given the increase in crime and illegal drug traffic, you would think they could make better use of the police cars, and maybe even catch a thief or bust a drug dealer.

The cost to provide these officers and their vehicles is paid by the Contractor. This work is done outside the officer's regular hours. They are offered the opportunity to work these details, based on seniority. This has no effect on man power levels on the street.
