  1. Wildwood Crest - A big thank you to the wonderful work being done by our summer police. They are smart, courteous and seemingly everywhere, with little escaping their notice. Their presence makes us year-rounders feel safe and protected. Is there any way, such as grants, to keep these young officers on the rolls after September?

  2. Seaville - Still another video making the rounds on cable news of a police officer using questionable force in a routine traffic stop. By now, one wonders why some police seem very clueless about the the presence, everywhere, of video cams, and pictures then going viral on social media? Why would they risk adverse scrutiny, their reputation and their careers, with these cameras rolling almost everywhere?

  3. Avalon - The police do a fine job, but something has to be done about the speeding on Ocean Drive between 21st and 7th. It is out of control, mainly by trucks, but cars also. Someone is going to get injured trying to cross or enter from a side street. Children on bikes, etc., are very vulnerable. Please control it soon before someone gets injured.

  4. Villas - Can someone tell me why the road from Arizona to Greenwood Ave. is blocked off? They have large dirt piles blocking it. There are a lot of burnt piles of wood back there, and drug use. Open this up for the police to patrol. This is not safe.

  5. Stone Harbor - News reports describe how hackers managed to get into the software of certain vehicles, forcing them to slow down and stop, thus overriding the actual drivers. With this new technology, tailgating, which angers many spouters, will be a thing of the past, as signals will be sent to a car's blue tooth and WiFi software, automatically slowing the tailgating vehicle. High-end vehicles from overseas already possess this new technology.

  6. North Wildwood - Rather than turning Marina Bay Towers into condos, why not let veterans who are in need of housing rent those units? The building is handicapped friendly and I'm sure that would be appreciated by those who served their country.

  7. Lower Township - Cleaning up after your dog is important, but more important is consideration for those of us who are deathly afraid of dogs or those who are very allergic. When you let your dog run up near me, either on a long leash or off of a leash, I have a panic attack. Keep your dogs close to you and don't tell me, "it's okay, he's friendly." It is not okay. I have more right to use the beach than your dog has.

  8. North Wildwood - Are you kidding me? Does North Wildwood really need a deputy chief of the fire department? I have nothing against a paid department, but there is no way that the town can justify a fire chief and a deputy fire chief on the taxpayer rolls. The department is too small to justify this expense. If the present firefighters want upward mobility, they should apply to a larger department. Wildwood City Fire Department made the same mistake; it is a total waste of taxpayer monies in both towns. There are other ways to waste money.

  9. Sea Isle City - I am watching beach goers being forced off the beach by bulldozers. It was a lovely day on the beach July 27, in prime vacation week. Many families were settled in for a fun day/week in SIC, who have spent well-earned money to be here. It seems every beach south of 38th St. has been cleared and fenced off, and those on 38th St. are being asked to move or leave with no warning that their time at the beach was going to be ruined! This seems heartless. Not family/kid-friendly at all! Stop this immediately!

  10. Sea Isle City - All of the people who preach no self-serve gas on the argument that it provides jobs are barking up the wrong tree. How many Jersey full-service stations have multiple islands tended by one minimum wage attendant? Does anyone really think that one self-serve island at most gas stations will upset the cosmic plan? Grow up New Jersey, the rest of the world is not burning down or suffering uncontrollable unemployment because they have self-service gas stations.
