  1. North Wildwood - The city needs to correct the composition of the NWBP pension commission. NJSA 43:13-28 states "The mayor or chief executive officer shall appoint, with the advice and consent of the governing body of the city, a life guard pension commission of four members. One member shall be a superior officer of the life guard force, one a life guard and two citizens who are not members of the force." For the record, this means one Lieutenant or Captain, one "regular" lifeguard not part of the tent crew and two local North Wildwood citizens. Not a medic or maintenance person.

  2. Erma - To the spouter's remarks about the Koch brothers: The unions spend ten times what they do for the Democrats. Quit repeating something you heard without finding out the truth. That is what's wrong with the voters in this day and age.

  3. Wildwood - It is a disgrace how many people abuse the handicap parking spaces. It must be very easy to obtain one. It is rare to see a person who needs one get out of their car. When people pass away, the children and grandchildren continue to take advange of it. There must be some way to control it. Perhaps the doctors should be more selective.

  4. Court House - I work for a local medical office. Please have your insurance card and ID ready when you arrive. I know, you're here all the time. We don't care, we still need your information every visit. Please stop arguing with me about it. If your physician wants something special, please bring it in writing. I can't take your word for it. It only takes a minute for him to write it on a script and I'm not calling him. It's your job, not mine, to make sure you have everything you're supposed to have.

  5. Erma - If Lower insists on a new police building, can they put on a roof that is not flat, for once? Flat roofs go bad so fast. Then you have people complaining about mold and repairs. Do it the right way. Save the taxpayers in the long run.

  6. Ocean City / Philadelphia - Ocean City spent $9,090,044 on fire protection expenses, Ocean View spent $315,000 for fire protection in 2009. However, with a tax rate of 1.487 in Dennis Township and a tax rate almost half in Ocean City at 8.76, it is easy to see that every individual Dennis Township property owner paid more for a bunch of volunteers than the taxpayers in OC. Let's not drag this out. The numbers speak for themselves. Big city or country, a career fire department is a good investment.

  7. Middle Township - "Diversity is our strength" reads the Middle Township school motto. Perhaps the school teachers and athletic coaches should abide by this instead of "bullying" those students who choose to be involved in other things. The mind games these adults play with these kids is criminal.

  8. Court House - CBO just revealed 46 million will still be uninsured at the end of 2014. Mind you, the original number was 30 million uninsured that the fed gov. upended the whole medical system for and ruined it. The additional 16 million are those who lost their insurance as a result of ObamaCare. Let the doctors' solution take over this debacle. Their solution from the beginning was to take the uninsured and establish a pool for them with less expensive insurance, cheaper than ObamaCare, and would cover pre-conditions. We all know the fed gov. has never run any business successfully and they shouldn't!

  10. Stone Harbor - We came down for Easter weekend. It was nice to see new shops that are in the process of renovating and getting ready to open. It would be nice if the rest of the shops followed their lead and spruced up their store fronts. These new stores reminded us of the way Stone Harbor looked back in the 1990's, before some of the owners let their buildings get run down. Kudos to them for doing such a nice job and for making the shopping district a little nicer.
