I truly believe in the sanctity of human life. I also believe that people make choices that they must be held accountable for. If you choose to use heroin and you happen to overdose, why is everyone so upset? If you chose to jump in front of a train, or leap from a bridge, we will mourn your passing, but it is still what you chose. Soon we will have legal marijuana. More weak individuals will eventually turn from marijuana to heroin, and they too will overdose. The epidemic is a society with no moral compass or boundaries, not drug overdoses.

I spent over 30 years in the fire service, including rescue work. While I do not condone drug use, as a matter of fact I personally view those that use drugs with contempt, I also have saved countless overdose victims. All life is precious, no matter what personal views you may hold. The parents or children of these people that chose to use drugs and overdose would likely disagree with you. Count your blessings and move on. Good day.
