The Feb. 27 edition of the Middle Township Gazette reports in a front page story titled, "Middle Township to create animal welfare board" that government and citizens are collectively stepping forward to protect animals, promote safety, and address animal nuisance issues that diminish quality of life. On this board, will be an animal control officer, a veterinarian, a police liaison, and seven voting members of the public. Their duties will include a review and amendments of ordinance deficiencies which hamper responsible pet care and humane treatment. Dennis Township needs to do this also.
