  1. North Wildwood / Philadelphia - I spent some time at 3rd St. and the beach in North Wildwood last week. On three different days, I saw the same person with a dog. He/She seemed to know a lot of people so I'm guessing that he/she is there often. On all three days, I saw the same thing. The dog was always on a leash. The person never held the leash, they just let the dog wander around on it's own. Why bother with the leash if you're not going to hold it?

  2. Seaville - Regarding the Upper Township Fire District 4, Seaville's Commissioners meeting: It's hard to tell when the actual meeting is since the meeting dates on their website are from 2013 and have not been updated, and there have not been any public notices in the newspapers advertising the meeting time, date or location. Doesn't NJ's Sunshine Law require them to advertise the meetings in the local newspapers?

  3. Avalon - To the Whitesboro spouter: You actually believe a political party controls two local radio stations that broadcast biased news? I was imagining the same thing about the vast majority of "mainstream" television news broadcasters. I actually got to thinking that maybe the "lapdog" media in this country is largely responsible for putting socialists in charge of our country while denying fair and impartial reporting to the American viewers and listeners.

  4. Avalon - To he who believes the NRA "opposes every effort to keep guns out of the hands of those who should not have them": Nothing could be further from the truth. While the NRA does work to protect attempts by misguided politicians and PACS to infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens, it also supports common sense laws directed at denying or removing firearms from the hands of criminals and the mentally unfit element in our country. As for "the ease with which guns can be obtained" it is much harder to obtain a firearm today than it was prior to 1968 when federal laws created many new hurdles.

  5. Court House - Our son is saving money to buy a house, but, unfortunately, three surfboards and a surf case he had for sale were stolen right from our front yard. To the person with the black Honda, thanks for the $50, but you still owe $150.

  6. Wildwood Crest - As we watch the day trippers flood our streets each weekend, taking the parking spots of residents, unloading their trunks with the usual beach gear, coolers, food and drinks, refusing to spend a few bucks to feed our parking meters, we all wonder just what is the argument against a small beach fee to lighten our heavy school and local tax load here?

  7. Middle Township - Why does the Lower Township Rescue Squad travel Route 9 through Middle Township on their way to Cape Regional Medical Center? It is a much more dangerous, slower route with all of the intersections, slow moving traffic and pedestrians than the parkway.

  8. Wildwood - A .17 cent tax increase to hire or replace firemen and cops that are actually not needed? Hire class II officers or part-time firemen. If they are just replacing and not adding, why the increase? It should stay same.

  9. Avalon - Let's eliminate sale and rent signs in Avalon. In the age of the Internet, all sales/rentals are listed and virtual tours are available. Many people simply don't have the time to come to the shore to "check out a property." Our realtors do a very good job at posting listings online, and the lack, of "sale/rent" signs would certainly enhance our existing piece of paradise. A lot of other communities have already stopped this practice and it works out just fine.

  10. Wildwood Crest - Does any spouter know anyone who has ever been ticketed for tailgate driving? It seems our police need a refresher course on the law about this problem. We even witnessed one of our own patrol cars being tailgated by an out-of-state driver. It's so dangerous, given the recent 11 car pileup on I-95 because of tailgating. Police, please reread and enforce this law.
