  1. Ocean View - To the Court House spouter upset with the open space preservation program: Open space is defined as "lands used for purposes of public recreation, including parks, gardens, natural green space and outdoor sports facilities," so then why not invest this budget on projects that can actively engage a community? That certainly does not seem like a "worthless project" to me.

  2. Wildwood Crest - The spout questioning the wisdom of spending tourist dollars on doo-wop is correct, since a majority of tourists here are younger people who are clueless about 50's music and styles, and could care less. Those precious advertising dollars should go to bringing in big spenders from the New York area and Montreal.

  3. Wildwood - It's sad that Fox and other Republicans are using the Berghdahl case to blast the administration for its foreign policies. Luckily, the Yale lawyer defending the young soldier sees a potential plea bargain to resolve the legal issues, with a reduction in rank, less than honorable discharge and forfeiture of some pay, as the way out.

  4. Wildwood - To the millennial from Wildwood asking why there are so many negatives about certain spouts: Most of us millennials do not lean to the far left, or the far right. We are mainly independents who vote for who we think is best for us. We believe in the Constitution, that all people should be equal and follow the laws of America. Many younger millennials think that demanding for, or blaming others (older people) is the way to get our point across. That is not so. The millennial from Wildwood speaks for the minority and not the majority of us, millennials.

  5. Wildwood - The Army is finally charging Sgt. Bergdahl with desertion. I am sure that after his miserable years in captivity, he has had ample opportunity to reflect on how bad his decision to desert was, and I don't see any value in incarcerating him. However, a dishonorable discharge and loss of pay and benefits is certainly appropriate. His bad judgment led to his own imprisonment, risk of death or actual death of his comrades, and the release of dangerous terrorists.

  6. Stone Harbor - In response to a spouter: Many homes take precautions and leave the heat on. Sometimes, because the electric goes off, or the 'heater' brakes, the pipes burst. If you're concerned about 'wasted water,' let alone the destruction of the home, let us turn the water off at the curb without breaking the law.

  7. Court House - Maybe the Wildwood spouter who is critical of doo-wop should try dancing to it some time. It's fun, wholesome exercise. What would you have older people do, stay home and play video games?

  8. Villas - I agree with the spouter about the Lower Township code officer: Why doesn't he do follow-ups? He never comes back to check on reported code problems in my area of Villas. The homeowners never did what he requested.

  9. Villas - Another big lie from Obama; that we had to get Bowe Bergdahl back since we always have done that. The Korean War is the best guide to disprove that lie; i.e., POWs who elected to remain with the enemy, which, basically, is what Bergdahl did, were allowed to do so. No way were we going to go out of our way to get back those who had rejected us. Yes, a few came back years later, but were not treated as heroes.

  10. Dennisville - All the parents who are opting their kids out of the PARCC test are enabling a new generation of entitled brats who think that mommy and daddy will get them out of anything difficult in their lives. I'm a teacher, and those commercials about how bad the test is for our kids makes me sick. It's a test for crying out loud, it's not like it's lead-based paint or asbestos! You know what else is difficult? Life, when you are no longer babied and allowed to avoid any kind of adversity. Tell your kids to suck it up and take the test. Call it practice for when it does count in a few years.
