  1. Wildwood - Wildwood really needs to get their stuff together when it comes to reporting criminal acts that occur within its city limits and let their residents know what is going on. I pay a ridiculous amount of money in property taxes to live here; least they could do is report what's going on.

  2. Court House - Most people don't understand the crisis in Greece, however, we too have too many people wanting to live off the fruits of other people's labors, which is the crux of the Greek crisis. Vote Democrat 2016 and we will be in the same boat as Greece; no money to survive on.

  3. North Wildwood - I attended the Burrs on the Beach reunion June 28, and what a great time it was! It was a real treat to hear Blackthorn again after so many years. The committee was very organized, the food was great and it was great to see everyone again. Well done West Catholic!

  4. Ocean City - No sooner did the Herald print a good, informative article on bicycling, and the spouts start up about the lack of enforcement. Cyclists riding several abreast (the law calls for single file) and running stops signs (bikes have to obey stop sings, just like cars). Perhaps the problem is not public awareness, but a lack of police enforcement. The shore towns can devote whole squads to enforcing noise ordinances, but seem to ignore bicycle violations year after year. Noisy parties can be annoying, and damage quality of life. Bike accidents can kill and maim people. Cops should read Spout Off.

  5. Stone Harbor - The Borough of Stone Harbor should consider installing a pedestrian crosswalk sign at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 83rd Street. It is a very busy intersection with a food market, restaurants, several condo buildings and a fishing pier in close proximity.

  6. Wildwood / Philadelphia - Smoking should be banned on the Wildwood Boardwalk. This is long overdue. Children should not have to breathe in smoke while walking down the Boardwalk. Mayor and council, please do something about this.

  7. Wildwood Crest - Previous spouters are correct to worry about car-bicycle accidents, and I'm unsure if something more can be done to prevent a serious accident. Bikers in shore towns repeatedly run through red lights just as cars are approaching. Are there any statewide laws that say bikers, like drivers, must stop at a red light? If so, are such laws ever enforced?

  8. Sea Isle City - Where is the police presence in Sea Isle? Go to the center of town around 11:30 p.m. and see 100 teenagers gathered on the promenade, drinking in public. No police around, and isn't there a curfew? I sat on the bench and watched at least two people stagger to their cars and drive the wrong direction on JFK Blvd. Where are the police to monitor those people coming out of the bars?

  9. North Wildwood - In the Herald article posted June 23 describing activity at the NW council meeting June 16, it states there were resolutions for engineering and affordable housing around Seaport Pier. What does this mean? Are they looking to put "affordable" (low-income) housing on the Boardwalk? Could you expand on your reporting?

    Editor's Note:
While the city has retained special counsel to advise it on the affordable housing mandate, no projects are presently planned. The vacant boardwalk pier at 22nd Avenue holds potential for commercial or tourism purposes. Because of those, the city is soliciting proposals from developers regarding the pier. There is no connection between affordable housing and the pier, according to Mayor Patrick Rosenello.

  10. Wildwood - Two spouters criticized the amount of time and obvious expense that it cost to kill/capture the New York prison escapees. I wonder how often either of those spouters have tried to track down a motivated opponent in the type or terrain found in upper New York. I am quite sure that neither have any combat experience, or it would be obvious to them that it is possible to evade even a larger, better trained force than those deployed against the inmates.
