In 2011, fire departments across the country responded to 384,000 home fires. These fires claimed the lives of 2,640 people and injured another 13,350. Preparing for emergencies is a key step towards a successful outcome during a tragedy. The Emergency Services Professionals of Upper Township are committed to educating the community on how to prevent house fires and what to do when they are unavoidable. The community is invited to participate in the township’s annual Fire Prevention Night on Wed., Oct. 10, 2012.
The fun-filled evening will include fire prevention education, giveaways, refreshments, live music and much more. Come out and enjoy the apparatus displays, firefighter demonstrations, a Smoke in Room Simulator and special appearances by the Upper Township Rescue Squad K-9 Unit. It all takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Marmora Fire House on Old Tuckahoe Rd.
