St. Luke's Day

On Sunday, October 21 the church will celebrate St. Lukes Day; St. Luke is often referred to as the Great Physician. There will be an opportunity for those who work in any capacity of medical care to have their hands anointed with oil. Nurses, doctors, technicians, EMTS, paramedics, social workers, family caregivers, medical administrators are invited to have their hands anointed with oil as recognition of the holy work which is medical care. Part of the anointing ritual is to ask God to work through these hands to bring healing, comfort, and peace to those who are suffering in body.
