he Cape May County Museum will present “Remember the Ladies,” a day of programs dedicated to women, on Oct. 6. Pary Tell, Director of the Museum, will present the morning program, “Saints and Sinners, New Jersey Women in the Civil War.”

The women heroines of the Civil War are often overlooked by history. Learn the stories of those you know and many you don’t know in this interesting program. Following the morning program, a gourmet lunch will be served in the garden of the Museum. In the afternoon, Pat Munson-Siter, Secretary of the Cape May County Civil War Roundtable, will present “The US Sanitary Commission, Civil War Medicine on the Homefront.”

Organized, supported and staffed by women volunteers, these women worked as nurses, ran kitchens in army camps, made uniforms, administered soldiers homes and more. Learn about the little known but significant contributions of women during the Civil War. The program begins at 11 a.m. and reservations are required.

Reservations are $20 and can be made by calling the Museum at (609)465-3535 or online at cmcmuseum.org. Seating is limited, so early reservations are suggested.
